A large campground provides campers with cozy sites and modern facilities. The Hopewell Day Lodge is a great venue for family gatherings. Other activities include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and archery.

The Clinton County History Center is a multi-function facility owned and operated by the Clinton County Historical Society, serving all those interested in our rich heritage. A mid-1800s residence, once the home of General James W. Denver (for whom Denver, Colorado was named), the Rombach Place Museum houses a changing array of exhibits that illustrate the history, diverse interests, and talents of the people of Clinton County.

In 1990 a small group of Wilmington community members met to discuss the possibility of creating a trail that could be used for recreation by converting existing abandoned railroad lines. They envisioned a trail that traversed Wilmington from east to west one that would eventually extend westward from Wilmington to the Little Miami scenic Trail in Warren County and extend eastward from Wilmington to Washington Courthouse through Sabina.

Cowan Lake State Park offers a peaceful setting replete with scenic inlets laden with the American Lotus water lily. Swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking and canoeing are popular on the lake. Meandering trails through mature woodlands complement the natural features of this scenic 1,775-acre park

The parks and recreation department offers a variety of activities for the whole family. 
From picnicking to trails, from soccer to baseball, Splash Pad to Skate Parks, adult sports and basketball and tennis courts, we can offer it all.Most of the capital improvements we are able to do each year are funded by donations from people, businesses and service organizations. If it weren’t for this generosity, we would only be able to do a portion of the improvements each year.
