What Is the Career Exploration Fair?

The Fair is an interactive career expo open to the 10th and 12th grade students from districts throughout Clinton County and the surrounding region. Each year, we host around 650 students - and anticipate more in 2026!

The Fair provides hands-on and interactive experiences for students while creating awareness of workforce opportunities right here in Clinton County. By generating excitement in your industry with today’s students, you’re creating a talent pipeline so that when those students enter the workforce, they already have an interest in the industry and an understanding of what it takes to work for you! Who Can Participate?

All Clinton County and surrounding area businesses are welcome to join us for this event on a first come, first served basis.

What Does It Cost?

Registration fees are based on the number of employees in Clinton County:

  • $50 for businesses with 1 to 99 employees
  • $150 for businesses with 100 to 499 employees
  • $250 for businesses with more than 500 employees

Upon registration, you will be invoiced and can pay using credit card or check.

The Fine Print

  • Set-up will begin the evening of October 20.
  • All participants are expected to stay throughout the entire Career Exploration Fair.
  • Each business will be provided one table and two chairs.
  • Wi-fi access is available.
  • Electric can be provided on a limited basis (you must provide your own extension cords).
  • Indoor and outdoor spaces are available.
  • Workforce Collaborative volunteers will work with you to determine the ideal size and location for your booth.
  • More details will be provided upon registration.

The Clinton County Career Exploration Fair connects students with local businesses in a setting that encourages interactive and hands-on activities that enhance their understanding of various career paths.

EDUCATORS

The Clinton County Workforce Collaborative strives to get local educators connected to the resources they need to support their students' career exploration and workforce preparedness efforts. Those resources include:

  • Our Participating Business Directory, which makes it easier for educators to connect to employers for workforce development opportunities like Internships, Guest Speakers, and Job Shadowing.
  • The Clinton County Career Exploration Fair, an annual event that connects students with local businesses in a setting that encourages interactive and hands-on activities that enhance their understanding of various career paths.
  • Student Immersion Tours, which are available throughout the year at the request of your school, are for students in middle and high school. Hosted by local businesses in multiple industries, the tours are an opportunity for students to see first-hand and behind the scenes.

What We Do CCWC Logo

WHAT WE DO

The Clinton County Workforce Collaborative (CCWC) collaboratively tackles the critical and multi-faceted issues surrounding workforce development, retention, and recruitment in Clinton County and our surrounding region through:

  • Bringing employers and service providers together to explore cooperative solutions to the challenges of workforce mobility, childcare, housing, broadband accessibility, and more.
  • Identifying pathways for professional growth, including skill-building and career readiness initiatives that meet workforce demands.
  • Working to foster meaningful workforce-related collaboration between local schools and businesses, non-profits, and community organizations.

The CCWC is an initiative of the Clinton County Port Authority, OhioMeansJobs Clinton County, the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center, and the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, and is open to anyone in the business, education, non-profit, government, and economic/community development sectors.

The CCWC is an extension of the Clinton County Business Advisory Council (BAC), under the umbrella of the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center. The work of the Clinton County BAC is guided by the Clinton County Business Advisory Council Plan, which is submitted to the Ohio Department of Education annually. As a result of the work of the CCWC, the Clinton County BAC was named a 3-Star Business Council in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
