Our Successes
The CIC has facilitated the success of some of Clinton County’s major employers through the sale of land to entities that would later become ATSG, a leading provider of aircraft leasing and air cargo transportation, and Ferno, the leading global provider of emergency care solutions.
The CIC was also responsible for the initial development of Davids Drive, an industrial corridor that is now home to businesses employing hundreds of local residents, including Alkermes, a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, and EMSAR, a national leader in medical equipment services.

Our History
In its early years, the CIC was central to ushering in a new era of economic growth and prosperity in Clinton County following the closure of the Clinton County Air Force Base in 1972. With financing from the Clinton County National Bank and First National Bank, the CIC purchased 832 acres from the U.S. Government and set in motion the development of what is today the world class Wilmington Air Park.

Our Mission and Values
The Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) of Wilmington, Ohio, is a not-for-profit community development organization that facilitates industrial and commercial investment to promote economic development and job creation.
While the core of the CIC's mission is to support the economic growth of the community, the CIC also takes an active role in promoting the social vitality, quality of life, and environmental health of the community through significant contributions to Laurel Oaks Career Campus, Southern State Community College, and Wilmington College. The CIC also donated land for the creation of the Lytle Creek Greenway nature preserve and the construction of the Wilmington Humane Society.
